Illustrations for Governable Spaces, book by Nathan Schneider

The goal of this project was to create visuals for what was not explicitly stated in the book through words. The resulting illustrations represent creative wireframes of imaginary web interfaces which would depict the core power relations among various online (and in some cases offline) community types. There are two types of visuals: the general illustrations and the profile images, which depict projects of Schneider’s Media Enterprise Lab of the University of Colorado Boulder. The latter were differentiated by a gradient frame while the overall visual language combines fluid shapes and color gradients with elements of a synthwave aesthetic.
